Solutions that you've used:

  • With the rope trick and a bit of timing, you can finish this level with two items. First use the rope trick to move the large spiked steel ball through the red barrier. Wait until the ball has stopped swinging, then remove the rope from the barrier. It should fall on the red switch, at which point you can detach the rope from the spiked ball. Next use the rope trick on the starite and the top of the blue barrier (if you're having difficulty, angle the rope so that it's hanging upwards into the space above the star and the blue barrier. If the starite is in the way, attach it to the star first.) The starite will fall through. Next detach the rope from both items and attach it to the bottom of the green barrier and then attach it to the starite. It should now be hanging in the water. The next bit requires timing. Summon a hostile creature of your choice (I use a dragon) to kill the enemies in the pool below, but wait until at least one of them is positioned so that their snorkeler will float up to the surface. Remove the hostile creature you summoned, grab the snorkel and use it to grab the starite. To complete the level in advanced mode, use a streamer and a hose instead of the rope, and choose two different hostile creatures to kill the enemies below. Note: If the snorkel doesn't quite make it to the surface, you can attach the rope on the side/direction you want it to move, and it should float to the surface.
